USPS Processing + Distribution Center

Open 24×7, this new facility handles mail from over 250 local post offices in Eastern Maine. Form follows function in this mission-critical processing center. To accommodate the postal service’s rigorous temperature and humidity level control parameters,  the building is clad in white aluminum panels that help to maintain stable operating conditions throughout the year.

The building was sited to take maximum advantage of natural daylighting, especially during the winter months, with loading docks and main entrances bathed in sunlight. Operating on around the clock, the design provides an equally warm welcome during night operations. A highly visible two-story stair tower serves as a beacon after dark.

We’d love to work on a project together.
