Hometown Health Center

Hometown Health Center (HHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center in central rural Maine, that offers medical, dental, and behavioral health services. HHC engaged Harriman to design a new healthcare clinic, a community wellness center, a child daycare facility, and administrative offices.

The design concept revolves around responding to the diverse and specific needs of the community, sustainability, and wellness. Creating a safe and pleasant environment for patients and staff was paramount.

Comprehensive wellness

In addition to the clinical and administrative facilities, the campus includes a comprehensive wellness center. This includes a gymnasium, fitness center with walking track, fitness studios, and a teaching kitchen.

Rooftop solar panels, a tight building envelope, and high performance mechanical systems advance the client’s sustainability goals. During planning, massing and materials were selected to integrate the facility into the surroundings, minimize negative environmental impact, and conserve natural resources.

  • Integrating clinical, behavioral and community wellness into a single point of service, the new Hometown Health Center strives to expand access to high quality care for more Mainers.

We’d love to work on a project together.
