This building brings flight crews and maintenance staff of the Guard unit
together in one building for the first time and is carefully planned to
match routines so the unit can respond quickly when needed.
Because the building is close to the flight line, acoustical glass is
used in the large windows that provide good visibility to the runway.
And a system that filters air three times keeps jet-fuel exhaust from
being a problem inside the building.
The command center has a full complement of sophisticated communications
equipment. And large and small classrooms address training and briefing
needs.
