June 2004 Harriman hires seven Intern Architect Anthony Roy is responsible for the design, presentation, documentation and production of architectural projects in Harriman's Auburn office. With experience in the field of architectural services and 3-D computer modeling, Roy currently is a member of the Harriman team working on the Exeter Staff Accountant Deborah M. Tempesta has more than ten years experience in bookkeeping, accounting and order entry. As Harriman's Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable representative, Tempesta is responsible for processing invoices, employee payroll, and reconciliation of financial sheets. Tempesta is a Notary Public and holds an Associate of Science, Business Administration with Distinction/Accounting Concentration, from the University of Maine, Augusta, Lewiston . She is a resident of Auburn with her husband Tom and their two daughters, Chesari and Toni. Structural Engineer Greg Cuetara is responsible for the structural design of buildings and production of contract documents. He engineers all aspects of the foundation and the superstructure for steel and reinforced concrete buildings. Working in Harriman's Auburn location, Cuetara is a member of the design team working on the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice project. He holds a Master of Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. A native of North Hampton , New Hampshire , he now resides in Auburn , Maine . Project Architect Jon Boyd comes to Harriman's Auburn office with more than 18 years' experience in architectural design. Boyd is responsible for programming, design and coordination of a variety of educational projects. He is currently a member of the design team working on Central Maine Community College 's addition and renovation and a 5-year Master Plan Study, and the Brunswick School District Study. Most recently Boyd was employed as a select member of the design team at Baldwin White Architects in Des Moines , Iowa . Prior to that, he served as a job captain at Bloodgood Sharp Buster Architects in Des Moines . Boyd is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Maine Chapter of the AIA, and NCARB. Boyd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Iowa State University . A native of Des Moines , Iowa , Boyd now resides in Brunswick , Maine , with his wife, Heidi, and their sons Jasper, 11 and Elliot, 7. Marketing Assistant Polly-Jean Mottram has nearly ten years' experience in marketing, communications and development. As the Marketing Assistant in Harriman's Auburn, Maine, office, Mottram supports the firm's principals, partners, and marketing manager in day-to-day marketing functions, including advertising and public relations services. Mottram holds an Office Information Systems Certificate Degree from Central Maine Technical College, in Auburn . She resides in Turner with her husband Jason and their 3-year old son, Jacob. Steven M. Martel was appointed to the position of Project Mechanical Engineer. Martel manages the design of HVAC systems for Harriman's schools, office, hospital and industrial projects. He is currently a member of the design teams working on the Blaine House Study, Maine State Building Energy Building , and the Conners/Emerson School HVAC Renovations, and Exeter ( New Hampshire ) High School. Martel serves on the Board of Governors of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers and is past president of its Maine Chapter. He is a Maine Professional Engineer and is certified in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED). Martel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Thermodynamics) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Biology from Middlebury College . He resides in Standish , Maine . Electrical Designer William J. Bell, III comes to Harriman's Auburn office with nearly seven years' experience in electrical engineering and design. As an Electrical Designer, Bell designs and develops detailed system design in CADD. Some of his responsibilities include: writing specifications, performing code studies and verifying code compliance, preparing final cost estimates and reviewing projects progressively through design and detail before issuing to bid. He is currently a member of the design team working on Cheverus High School , Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, and Maine Medical Center . Most recently Bell was employed as an Electrical Designer at Bath Iron Works. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Maine , Orono, and an Associates Degree in Electrical Design from the Maine Maritime Academy . A native of Chelsea , Maine , Bell resides in Augusta with his wife, Beth, and their two daughters, Alyssa and Ashley. Harriman Associates designers receive LEED accreditation LEED accredited professionals are experienced building industry practitioners who have a demonstrated knowledge of intergrated design of green building practices and principals. "There is a growing awareness from the public and private sectors for environmentally-friendly or 'green' buildings," said Ed Cormier, president of Harriman Associates. "We have always recognized that buldings have an impact on our natural environment, economy, health and productivity, and Harriman Associates is taking steps to ensure that our employees and our clients' buildings receive the LEED-certified recognition." Harriman architects and engineers receiving their LEED Accredited Professional certification are: Patrick S. Costin, partner; Frank L. Crabtree, associate, civil engineer/environmental engineer; Steven J. Florenz, structural designer; Denis L. Lemieux, associate architect; Jeffrey B. Luy, associate architect; Richard D.
