Harriman Associates Hires Six Architectural and Engineering Professionals

Harriman Associates, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, announces the addition of six new design professionals. Located in Auburn and Portland, Maine, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Harriman Associates employs more than 80 full-time architects, designers and engineers.

Raymond E. Marchessault, Senior Mechanical Designer comes to Harriman's Auburn office with more than twenty-five years' experience in mechanical and HVAC design for hospitals and health care facilities. Most recently he was employed at Lindberg Engineering, Inc., in Augusta, Maine, where he worked on projects such as the Lahey Clinic, a one- million-square-foot hospital in Burlington, Mass, as well as numerous medical centers throughout Maine. Marchessault is a resident of Auburn, Maine.

Timothy R. Hart, Architectural Designer in Harriman's Portland office, holds a Master of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. While there, he was awarded the AIA-Henry Adams Merit Award for Excellence in the Study of Architecture. In addition, he was an invited member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and the Tau Sigma Delta National Honor Society for Architecture and the Applied Arts. From 1984 to 1998, he served as co-owner of Timiran, Inc., an interior design retail chain based in Santa Cruz, Calif. Hart lives in Portland.

Jeremie Briggs, Electrical Drafter, specializes in CAD drawing and is currently contributing to Harriman projects for Scarborough High School, Biddeford Middle School and Exeter (New Hampshire) High School. Briggs works in Harriman's Auburn office. Prior to joining Harriman he was employed at Lindberg Engineering and the City of Augusta Engineering Bureau. Briggs is a 2000 graduate of Hall Dale High School in Hallowell, Maine, and the Capital Area Technical Center, Augusta, Maine. He is a resident of Farmingdale.

Matthew R. LaPierre serves as a Civil Designer and Drafter, drafting and coordinating site development drawings in Harriman Associates' civil engineering department. He is involved in numerous projects at Harriman including Scarborough High School Community Park, Biddeford Middle School and Androscoggin Home Health & Hospice . Proficient in AutoCAD, LaPierre holds an Associate Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting from Northern Maine Technical College and is a certified AutoCAD Technician. LaPierre, is a native of Van Buren, Maine, and now resides in Auburn.

Nathaniel H. Smith, Civil Designer, is a site designer and Engineer-in-Training in Harriman's Auburn office. He is currently working on Scarborough High School Community Park, Biddeford Middle School and Androscoggin Home Health & Hospice. Before coming to Harriman, Smith was employed by the Augusta Sanitary District as an engineering assistant. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine, Orono, Maine, where he received the ASCE Student Member of the Year in 2000 and was a member of several engineering honor societies. Smith resides in Auburn.

Jonathan M. Hicks, Architect Intern, is a drafting and graphics designer in Harriman's Auburn location. An Accredited Professional in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED), he is currently on the team of conceptual designers working on the 330,000-square-foot Exeter (New Hampshire) High School project. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and studied in Florence, Italy. Hicks resides in Westbrook.
