A major renovation and addition will relieve the severe overcrowding that has had students eating lunch in the auditorium and taking classes in trailers and rooms that used to be storage closets.
The expanded school will accommodate 1,200 students, nearly double the capacity of the current building, with more classrooms, science labs, and library and cafeteria space, as well as more space for art, music and athletics.
The addition is designed to be compatible with the existing building, with a flat roof and brick facade. Relocating the main entrance will ease congestion on a heavily traveled street.
