Renovations
and the additions that doubled the size of this rural high school are seamlessly
integrated into the existing structure, giving the appearance of an entirely
new building.
An awkward layout was streamlined. Ramps added to make the interior of the
multilevel school handicapped-accessible are also designed to create social
gathering spaces.
The library/media center was enlarged and relocated to allow easy access
for community use. A new 825-seat auditorium is designed for community use
too.
Despite the increased size of the school, energy costs remain as they were,
because of an upgraded heating system, new lighting, and added insulation.
