The
look of an Adirondack-style ski lodge is a perfect fit for the design of
a new campus for this high school, known internationally for its training
program in alpine skiing and snowboarding.
Comprising a dormitory for 105 students plus staff, an academic athletic
building, and a maintenance building, the campus is just minutes from one
of the Northeast's largest ski resorts and surrounded by mountains. A strong
connection to the outdoors and a reinforcement of the intimacy and sense
of community that defines the school were priorities in the design.
Besides 10 classrooms, two science labs, and a library with two computer
labs, the campus has team offices for skiing and snowboarding, a training-therapy
room and an infirmary.
