| This "fast-track" patient care center is an example of one of the latest trends in health care delivery. Patients coming to the emergency room at the hospital are evaluated by the medical staff, and those whose injuries or illnesses are less serious are treated here, in the FirstCare Center. This leaves the emergency room staff free to treat those with more serious ailments and reduces the time that all patients spend waiting. The center is designed to look more like a doctor's office than an emergency room. The color scheme, the furnishings, and the lighting were specially chosen to add to the effect and lessen patients' anxiety.
