This new facility provides the space and specialized labs that a regional medical center needed to expand its molecular research program and continue to attract nationally recognized scientists.

The institute specializes in research in heart disease, cancer, and bone and mineral disease, and will be able to double the number of researchers to 150.

Labs are clustered in the center of the building, and offices, work stations, and conference rooms line the perimeter. The modular labs can be easily adapted to changing needs.

The open environment allows natural light from windows on the perimeter to be "shared" by those in the interior of the space.
