Erik Greven, P.E.
Chief Financial Officer
Erik, who is a firm principal and has served as principal-in-charge of many corporate and government projects, is the firm’s fiscal watchdog.
“It takes careful financial management to acquire the resources we need to take us into the future. Our clients demand a growing flexibility in the way we manage projects and how they are delivered. We need resources to be prepared.”
Do you know anyone who has skated on the canals of Holland in the winter? Erik, born in Holland, has always been attracted to gliding through Nature. These days he still glides – now through water – on his sailboat. “Sailing is the ideal sport. I love the smoothness of moving through water and the skill required to harness the wind.” Occasionally he will even go up in a gilder plane to experience another form of silently exploring Nature.
Back in Holland he had several choices of professions: Navy pilot, Physicist, mechanical engineer or civil engineer. “I picked civil engineering because of all the monumental civil works I saw around me. I could watch them come together and saw the immediate impact they made. For me the most rewarding moment on a project is when it is half built but I can clearly see its shape and impact.”
Erik started his education in Holland, receiving a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Delft. He also received a MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He and his wife live in Falmouth.
